Description:

This work package will handle all the project management tasks (contracts, disbursements, procurements, monitoring and reporting) as well as gender and outreach issues.

The project structure can be summarized in the figure below

AdEMNEA Project Management Structure

NTNU will provide overall leadership of the project. UiB and Makerere will be directly responsible to NTNU while DIT and UoJ will be responsible to NTNU through Makerere since there has been prior cooperation between the three southern partners that can be leveraged. Thus NTNU will be assisted by Makerere in coordinating project implementation among the south partners to ensure efficiency.

The partnership will put in place a project management team consisting of at least one representative of each partner institution as well as a gender focal person. This team will be chaired by the agreement partner institution contact person and will be responsible for the operationalization of the project activities.

Task 4.1 Project Management

Description of work: Establish the procedures and routines that will guide the cooperation between the agreement partner and all other partners i.e. enter into contracts, disbursements, procurement, monitoring and reporting.

Task 4.2 Gender 

Partners: MAK, DIT, UoJ

Duration: M1-M60

Description of work: Mentoring and guidance of female and male students participating in the project and ensuring that the research project is gender-aware. We will work closely with the Gender Mainstreaming organs of the partners in order to focus on engendering institutional programmes and priorities. In addition, female students that get pregnant during their study programmes will be supported to complete. There will also be mentorship talks for girls in school to encourage them to pursue science and technology fields

Other Work Packages

Networks and Resilience(WP1)

VSensor data must be collected from both static and mobile sensors in the field and then aggregated by nodes which are energy-constrained either because they rely on batteries or on local power sources such as solar panels.

Sensors and signal processing(WP2)

These data shall be stored and integrated in digital platforms that facilitate analysis of temporal and spatial species abundance and diversity, improvement of insect management, reduction of pesticide usage and institution of conservation measures for pollinating insects

Data Analytics for Environment Monitoring services(WP3)

Development of automated information collection for insect pollinators and pests. And also for the first time combined utilization of large weather information data sets in insect pollinator conservation planning and pest control method design
